This two hour training will prepare participants to provide information and counseling for people facing their first detained hearing at the Fort Snelling Immigration Court.  Presented material includes overview of removal defense, bond hearings and practical advice in advising and representing respondents in their initial immigration hearing.

The Detention Project began in early 2001 as a partnership with The Advocates for Human Rights, Centro Legal, Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota and William Mitchell College of Law.  Today, it includes local law school clinics and private immigration practitioners who volunteer their time and expertise.
