This training will provide attendees a crash course on how to activate positive patterns of thinking on immigration, as well as how to garner press attention from print, TV, or radio outlets and best practices when working with the media. The presentation will also include an up-date on current state-of-play of immigration reform in Congress and the Administration, as well as how to advocate for sensible immigration laws and policies. Finally, social media’s growing importance in public and press outreach will be discussed, as well as ways for participants to build a successful social media presence. Time permitting, individual on-camera training will be offered.
Presenters include AILA National Advocacy team and local chapter leaders to provide highlights on recent efforts for outreach to local congressional leaders.
