CLE: Central American Minors Program and Asylum Law Issues

This CLE will have two main parts: (1) a discussion of the relatively new Central American Minors program (“CAM”), which allows for in-country refugee and parole processing for minors in Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador – http://www.uscis.gov/CAM – this section will be led by Micaela Schuneman, Director of Refugee Services at the International Institute of Minnesota, who will share experiences and trends she has observed in the CAM program; and (2) a discussion of asylum law practice relevant to Central Americans – this section will be led by Sarah Brenes from Advocates for Human Rights, who has her finger on the pulse of what the Asylum Office and EOIR are doing with the asylum cases of our clients.
